Initiatives & Support Programs Offered:
We work with care agencies to maintain consistency in attendant-client relationships, preventing unnecessary disruptions that can negatively impact the well-being of individuals with disabilities.
We advocate for improved healthcare access for care attendants, ensuring they receive the benefits they need to continue providing essential support for individuals with disabilities.
We push for increased funding and resources to make care attendant salaries more competitive, reducing turnover and improving the quality of care.
We collaborate with local salons, cosmetology schools, and service providers to offer grooming services such as haircuts, shaving, and nail care for those who cannot afford or manage these tasks on their own.
We identify mobility needs and secure funding for wheelchairs, ramps, vehicle modifications, and other accessibility solutions. We also advocate for improved public space accommodations to ensure accessibility for all.

Dak Prescot awards Houston Everett the "Caregiver" award. Despite all the adversity he's faced, Houston has persevered and chosen to channel his adversity into caring for others by launching his own non-profit, The GAIN Independence Foundation, that will focus on providing independence and elevating quality of life for those with disabilities.
